A semi-comical look at the quests of the Hall family: Shawn (good beer & worldly knowledge), Nobuko (cakes, cookies, and straight long hair), and MoMo (anything that resembles food & ear rubs...especially from women).

Events for the Coming Weekend

Reminder - we'll have several events you might want to check out this weekend.
Some of you might have received emails about these events from Shawn. If not, please see below:

1. Japan Fest
This year's Japanfest will be held September 24-25, at Stone Mountain Park.
For more info, please visit their website.

Nobuko's Note:
What you'll see at the festival is not so new to Japanese folks, but it is surprising to see how big Japanese community is in Georgia. For American folks, I hope it will be one of your opportunities to experience a variety of Japanese culture. It is like our annual event, so you'll see us there. BTW - if you would like to go to the event, please let me know. I cannot promise, but I might be able to get free tickets.

2. Grant Park Tour of Homes

For those of you who like architecture, or those who like being nosy & seeing how others live, the Grant Park Neighborhood Association is having its 2005 Tour of Homes on September 24-25th.

Grant Park is the oldest neighborhood in Atlanta, and has a variety of home styles from over the last 100 years. Also. I believe the neighborhood "yard sale" is happening at the same time, if you want to buy other peoples' junk.

For more info, please visit their website.

Nobuko's Note:
I have been to several home tours like this, and I really enjoyed them. I grew up in Japanese small apartments, and it is so eye-opening for me to see how people here use their space and express their life style with their home decors. Hope you can join us this time!
