A semi-comical look at the quests of the Hall family: Shawn (good beer & worldly knowledge), Nobuko (cakes, cookies, and straight long hair), and MoMo (anything that resembles food & ear rubs...especially from women).

I Love "Japanese" Culture!

As an outsider of a particular culture, it is easy to notice things that the culture's inhabitants take for granted (or pretend not to notice). It's also tempting to exploit, modify, and promote the culture in our own ways. I have found a site that does just that:

www.jlist.com

I purchased some "Japanese" related t-shirts from them recently, and Nobuko says she is so ashamed. I love them & don't see anything wrong with them; I hope my J-friends don't find them too offensive. I won't tell you what they are...you just have to see them for yourselves.

A warning for the timid: The Jlist site has many Japanese things on their site for sale, including adult-oriented items. Don't say I didn't warn you....There's always some truth to every sterotype, and there is a stereotype of freaky J-folks. Some of the stuff on that site confirms that?

Later,
Shawn
