I have just finished the IKEA-inspired bedroom! We went from a full-size bed to a king-size bed, so I have plenty of room to stretch out (and so does Nobuko & Momo).

And you can make fun of the flowers (poppies, by the way) all you want....I am secure in my masculinity.

During my latest trip to Japan in January, I got to go to a sumo match....

It was a very surreal experience, but overall I had a good time.

When I was but a wee child.......

Seriously, starting when I was about 3 years old, I had to live in this house. I keep this picture to remind myself where I came from & how far I've come.

This was my maternal grandmother's house. My mother abandoned my brother & I here before she went cross-country on a mini-crime spree & became "property of the state"....My father had already became "property" by that time. Most people don't know what it's like to visit one parent in the joint, let alone both of them!

I used to work with Dawn....Dawn & Chad met each other while working in Japan. Dawn was my first (half) Japanese friend.

Unfortunately, I have lost touch with them. I know Dawn went to work at Cox Communications in the late '90's, but she married Chad around the same time....but I can't remember his last name!

I would like to see them, because they would be so surprised by my current life!
